Preparing for my trip to Rabat and a yet to be revealed region. According to the WHO a typhoid vaccine is recommended. What other vaccines should I get? Why should I be vaccinated against typhoid?
According to the CDC website, a typhoid vaccine is suggested for all travelers to Morocco, especially if staying in a rural area. The main risk for typhoid is in contaminated food and water. Also from the CDC website, a hepatitis A vaccine is strongly suggested also in case of contaminated food and water. Rabies also poses a possible risk, and on top of that be sure all your other immunizations are up-to-date.
Immunoglobulin(aka Gamma Globulin when administered to me) for HepA. I needed to get one every 3 months in the arm or 6 months in the butt while in Korea.

ReplyDeleteYou could always get a Rabies vaccine just in case you plan on getting bitten by a bat.
